Ode to the iPod
Read this poem I found on iPod.
ipod! ipod! sleek and white
In the city streets at night
What GenXer’s hand or eye
Could frame thy perfect symmetry?
In what distant memory lies
Music collections burnt down to size
On Napster dare we aspire?
What the hand dare seize the buyer?
Now headphones white we never part
We twist the click-wheel of thy heart
And when the songs begin to beat
We shake our hands and move our feet
What the manner? By this name
Chose the white box for your frame?
But what’s the reason – I cannot grasp
I cannot make the battery last
When the artists threw down their fears
And littered itunes with their wares
Did Steve Jobs smile to see
Did he who made the Mac make thee?
ipod! ipod! sleek and white
In the city streets at night
What GenXer’s hand or eye
Dare frame thy perfect symmetry?
Pulse of Ecstasy
Almost all of you are by now aware of P.U.L.S.E, the super trippy music blended concert by Pink Floyd with the world’s best light/special effects, and all band members playing their hearts out for their final tour. This concert took place on October 24th, 1994 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Pink Floyd goes over the top with all of their lights, lazers, pyrotechnics and their circular screen projecting video and images of what song is being played that the time. I had seen this 2.5 hours concert erstwhile (I was sitting electrified for about a couple of minutes after the watching the whole of it) but watching it again on Vh1 the other day reminded of the thrill, and I located my DVD and played it once more. And it was same all over again. Now it’s a golden opportunity for you to percieve it. Watch it and let your pulse throb hard. Just some of my favourite clips uploaded by me.
“WE DON’T NEED NO EDUCATION!”, many of you still hum this composition. The track entitled “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2″ is one of the best compostions I agree. Here’s the video.
One of the songs that stood out was “On the Run” simply by having a 30 foot model plane fly over the crowd and crash and burst into flames. See what I mean about special effects?
And this is the spell-binding “Comfortably Numb” glass ball dropping down over the middle of the crowd with lights shining on it. This gives a feeling of truly being comfortably numb!
A Deserty Illusion
I know I have been dormant on my blog for quite some time. Was genuinely busy. Didn’t want my small piece of brain to be preempt with the blogging business during these crucial days. Now I won’t dawdle away my precious time reasoning. I just couldn’t resist posting this image. One of the best images I have seen. This image is no hallucination, no fantasy, no fakery, just a kinda magic created by the photographer.
